Stop Trump’s Tax Scam Before it Starts

Republicans are gearing up to ram through tax cuts for corporations just like they tried to ram through Trumpcare. Their first step is to pass a budget resolution through both the House and the Senate to establish reconciliation rules, which would allow them to pass their tax scam with a simple majority.  The Senate budget resolution also eliminates the waiting requirement associated with CBO scores. This tax scam is going to look a lot like Trumpcare, with the same sneaky tricks – so let’s try to stop it before it starts.

Action: Say No to Reconciliation

The House votes on its budget resolution tomorrow (10/5), and the Senate will vote next week. Make sure your reps oppose it.

Rep. Adam Smith: 425-793-5180

Rep. Pramila Jayapal: 206-674-0040

Sen. Patty Murray: 202-224-2621/ 206-553-5545

Sen. Maria Cantwell: 202-224-3441/ 206-220-6400

SCRIPT FOR HOUSE:

“My name is [NAME] and I’m calling from [ZIP].  Republicans are gearing up to push through tax cuts for corporations, and they are laying the groundwork in the upcoming budget resolution that establishes reconciliation rules. Please oppose the budget resolution and do everything you can to stop it.”

SCRIPT FOR SENATE:

“My name is [NAME] and I’m calling from [ZIP].  Republicans are gearing up to push through tax cuts for corporations, and they are laying the groundwork in the upcoming budget resolution that establishes reconciliation rules and gets rid of CBO requirements. Please oppose the budget resolution and do everything you can to stop it.”
