Action 1: Slow Down Senate Procedures:

The Senate could vote on a motion to proceed on the Tax Cut bill as soon as next Monday, November 27th! Our own senators are opposed to the bill, but still need more encouragement to do everything they can to slow down and delay the vote. These calls will achieve two things: adding to our Senators’ call tallies against the bill (which they can use in floor debate), and moving them towards more aggressive Senate tactics!

Sen. Patty Murray: DC 202-224-2621; Seattle 206-553-5545
Sen. Maria Cantwell: DC 202-224-3441; Seattle 206-220-6400

SCRIPT: Hi, my name is [NAME], from [CITY]. I am calling to oppose the Republicans’ Tax Cut bill, which is a giveaway to the rich and corporations at the expense of the middle class. I appreciate the Senator’s strong opposition to the bill, but would like to ask that you use every Senate procedural move possible to slow down and delay the vote – including ‘withholding consent.’

Action 2: Generate more Red-State calls against the Tax Scam

On top of getting friends and family to call in against the bill alongside us, we are asking our members to make a few calls using Indivisible Guide’s peer-to-peer call tool. It’s up and running again! Much like the ACA fight, this call tool will help you connect progressive constituents to their undecided Republican Senator. Any amount of calls we can generate will help!
