Save the Supreme Court and Resist Trumpcare

Action 1: Save the Supreme Court

This week is a Gorsuch marathon - we are asking you to call our Senators every day this week with a different reason why they should filibuster his Supreme Court appointment. Today’s reason: LGBTQ rights!

Please log your call here: and comment on this thread once you're finished to let us know what our MoCs had to say.

Call 1: Senator Patty Murray
    DC - 202-224-2621
    Seattle - 206-553-5545

Call 2: Senator Maria Cantwell
    DC - 202-224-3441
    Seattle - 206-220-6400

Sample Script

"Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I'm calling from {CITY, ZIP}. I would like the Senator to commit to filibuster Neil Gorsuch's appointment to the Supreme Court.  A person with such a terrible record on LGBTQ rights does not belong on the Supreme Court."

Neil Gorsuch's hearings are happening as we speak, and the votes to confirm him are just around the corner. Senate Democrats are shaky at best in their opposition to him, so they need as much input as possible from their constituents. Gorsuch’s record on LGBTQ rights is dubious, revealing a skepticism towards the court’s role in LGBTQ cases to downright hostility towards transgender rights. As a “religious liberty” champion we can expect Gorsuch will fail to protect the rights of LGBTQ people.

Action 2: Resist the American Health Care Act

Today the House of Representatives vote on Paul Ryan’s disastrous healthcare bill. Both Jayapal & Smith intend to oppose the bill. However, there are still Republicans on the fence. Ryan has been scrambling over the last few days to negotiate with the far right segment of his party, making increasing concessions to the Freedom Caucus at the expense of the American people and Medicaid recipients. Please reach out to your friends and families in red districts to contact their Representatives to oppose this bill
