Action 1: Save the Supreme Court.

We're continuing our Gorsuch marathon until Senator Cantwell commits to a filibuster. Today's reason: Environmental protection!

    Senator Maria Cantwell
    DC - 202-224-3441
    Seattle - 206-220-6400

"Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I'm calling from {CITY, ZIP}. I would like the Senator to commit to filibuster Neil Gorsuch's appointment to the Supreme Court. The judicial system will be crucial to maintaining environmental protections as Trump attempts to dismantle them, and Gorsuch's history shows that he will not be an ally to environmentalists."

Action 2: Denounce Trump's Anti-Environment Order.

Today Trump signed a sweeping anti-environment executive order. Senator Murray and Representatives Jayapal and Smith swiftly responded with a public condemnation. Call to thank them for their environmental awareness, and encourage them to keep fighting!

   Senator Patty Murray:

   DC - 202-224-2621
   Seattle - 206-553-5545

   Rep. Pramila Jayapal

   DC - 202-225-3106

   Rep. Adam Smith
   Statement: https://www.facebook.com/RepAdamSmith/posts/1675255632500941
   DC - 202-225-8901

"Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I'm calling from {CITY, ZIP}. I'd like to thank {Member of Congress} for {her/his} swift condemnation of Trump's environmentally harmful executive order yesterday. Climate change is an important issue and I am grateful to have a representative who will always stand up to threats to the environment."

Trump's executive order is a piece of anti-science, climate-change-denying trash. It dismantles Obama's Clean Power Plan, raises limits on methane emissions from the oil and gas industry, halts efforts to prepare for extreme weather events, releases federal land for coal mining leasing, and encourages agencies to disregard carbon emissions and climate change in decision-making. Action 3: Defund the Keystone Pipeline.

This coming Monday, the Seattle City Council will be voting on the Defund Keystone resolution. If this resolution passes, the City of Seattle would refuse to contract with any financial institution that provides loans to TransCanada or the Keystone XL pipeline. Call the City Council members who are still on the fence, and let them know that you want them to vote yes!

    Tim Burgess: 206-684-8806
    Debra Juarez: 206-684-8805
    Sally Bagshaw: 206-684-8801
    Lorena Gonzalez: 206-684-8802
    Rob Johnson: 206-684-8808

"I am calling to encourage Council Member {Name} to vote yes on the Defund Keystone resolution next week. The Keystone XL pipeline is an insult to Native American rights and a threat to the environment. Please vote for Seattle to lead the nation by example in refusing to contract with financial institutions that fund this pipeline."
