As tax day approaches we have another tax-themed action, this time on the national level.

Script: "Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m calling from [ADDRESS]. I would like to ask that the Representative/Senator refuse to move forward on any tax reform bill without Trump releasing his taxes. Trump should not be allowed to cut taxes for himself and his friends without us seeing the extent of his conflicts of interest."

Senator Maria Cantwell:
DC - 202-224-3441
Seattle - 206-220-6400

Senator Patty Murray:
DC - 202-224-2621
Seattle - 206-553-5545

Rep. Pramila Jayapal:
DC - 202-225-3106
Seattle - 206-674-0040

Rep. Adam Smith:
DC - 202-225-8901
Renton - 425-793-5180

Background: President Trump and Republicans are eager to begin writing a giant tax overhaul after recess. This week, Senator Schumer suggested that we should be able to see how any of Trump’s proposed tax reforms would affect his bottom line before we let him move forward. We would like to turn this suggestion into a demand: no tax reform until we can see how Trump will benefit from the bill.

Action 2: Make more Phone Calls for Jon Ossoff

Democrats came tantalizingly close on Tuesday to turning one of the most conservative districts in the nation blue. A Kansas district that voted for Trump by 27 points went to the Republican House candidate by only seven points! This is all the more motivation to make a hard push in the next special election, in which the Democrat is leading in the polls.

If you have not done so already, please consider making phone calls from your home to get out the vote for Georgia’s 6th district Democratic candidate, Jon Ossoff, in your free time:
