Demand Rights for Student Loan Borrowers and Attend Black Lives Matter Protest Saturday!

Today we’re going to focus on two main issues: first, a policy change by the Trump Education Department, and second, a call to attend the Black Lives Matter March on Saturday!

Action #1Demand that Congress Protect Student Loan Borrowers!

Before leaving office, the Obama administration instructed the Education Department to provide greater assistance to those repaying student loans. On Tuesday, Trump’s Education Department undid the change and decided that those struggling with student loans didn’t deserve any help.

Let’s call our Members of Congress to demand legislation that increases protections on borrowers!

Script: “Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I’m calling from {CITY, ZIP}. I feel that Trump administration’s recent removal of Obama-era protections on student loan borrowers is bad for our country and will drive more college grads into default. I’m calling on {the MoC} to push for legislation that expands assistance to those repaying federal student loans. Can you tell me if {the MoC} has any such legislation planned?”
