Meet with your Members of Congress!

Action 1: Resist Trump Tuesday Rally + Meeting with Senator Maria Cantwell

Join us this week at the Resist Trump Tuesday Rally where we will participate with Veterans for Peace during their annual Tax Day Action to raise awareness of how our government spends our tax dollars. Leafleting to passerbys will run from 11:30-12:30, with the rally starting at 12:30, including speakers, music and an open mic for you to share where you think our tax dollars should be allocated. Please join us!

Seattle Indivisible has just been notified that this week, Senator Cantwell will be attending part of the Tuesday meeting with staffers that typically follows our Tuesday rally at the Federal Building. Senator Cantwell is expected to be in attendance from 1-1:30PM in the auditorium inside the Federal Building (915 2nd Ave.) If you plan to attend, you may need to leave the 11:30AM rally by 12:45PM so that you can clear security to enter the Federal Building in time for the 1PM meeting with Senator Cantwell, where capacity is limited to about 80-100.

We are grateful that Senator Cantwell is making time for this short midday meeting during the Senate recess. In addition to letting us know how we can most effectively help her fight the Trump/GOP agenda, we hope Senator Cantwell will candidly address our repeated requests that she schedule regular and frequent open meetings with her constituents (e.g., Town Halls) at times when everyone who wishes can attend. Seattle Indivisible believes it will take everyone’s energy and focused effort to win this battle.

Action 2: Town Hall with Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal

Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal will hold four town halls in April throughout Washington’s 7th District. At the events, Jayapal will discuss her work in Congress and take questions from constituents. Town halls are an important way for constituents to connect with their representatives in government and hold them accountable.

The next town hall is TODAY, at Shoreline Community College, 16101 Greenwood Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133, from 5:30-7:00 PM.
