Keep the Pressure on Investigation, and Protect Fair Press

Action 1: Don’t let up – investigate Trump

If you’ve already called about this, call again – if not, pick up the phone! We have to keep up the pressure on our MoCs to get a fair investigation into Trump’s behavior.

Today the news broke that the top-secret information Trump leaked may have been from Israel. That means highly classified information from Israel was shared with Russia, the closest ally of Iran. Trump's actions are a clear potential threat to U.S. security and the security of our allies.

We also found out that before firing him, Trump had asked Comey to stop investigating Michael Flynn’s relationship to Russia. That’s interfering with an investigation. We already know that Trump had asked Comey to take a pledge of loyalty, which he refused. That’s the behavior of a dictator.

The evidence is piling up – but it’s worth nothing if we don’t do anything about it. Call your representatives and ask them to act!

Senator Patty Murray:
DC - 202-224-2621
Seattle - 206-553-5545

Rep. Pramila Jayapal:
DC - 202-225-3106
Seattle - 206-674-0040

Rep. Adam Smith:
DC - 202-225-8901
Renton - 425-793-5180

“My name is [name], and I’m calling from [city, zip]. Trump's recent behavior has been erratic at best, and traitorous at worst. I would like for [MoC] to do everything at [his/her] disposal, including withholding consent, to push for the appointment of an independent special prosecutor to investigate Trump’s misconduct."

Action 2: Protect fair press

Sinclair Broadcast Group, a pro-Trump and unabashedly anti-facts company, wants to buy Tribune Media. This merger would give Sinclair control of over 200 TV stations nationwide, reaching 70% of the nation. This is in clear violation of FCC regulations, which stipulate that no single company may own more than 39% of the airwaves. If this merger goes through, pro-Trump “news” will replace the local news that many have come to trust as unbiased. Senator Cantwell is on the Commerce Committee in the Senate – call her to ask that she push back against this merger.

Senator Maria Cantwell:
DC - 202-224-3441
Seattle - 206-220-6400

“Hi, my name is [NAME] and I am calling from [CITY, ZIP CODE]. I am concerned about the pending merger between Sinclair Broadcast Group and Tribune Media. The merger is in clear violation of FCC rules, and I would like Sen. Cantwell to push back against this merger as a member of the Commerce Committee.”
