Thank Bob Ferguson (WA AG) for ACA support, and call again to protect EPA regulations

Your voice is being heard.  EPA regulations supported, National Monuments protected - record numbers of American people are telling their government what’s important and what we will not put up with.  Way to go Resisters!

Action 1: Thank Bob Ferguson, Washington State Attorney General, for support of ACA subsidy payments to insurance companies.

This week Bob Ferguson and fifteen other Democratic attorneys announced they are legally challenging the House Republican action to cancel subsidy payments for low-income Americans under the ACA.  They have also legally challenged the Trump Muslim country travel ban, and have vowed to challenge erosions to National Monument protections as well.

Let Attorney General Ferguson know you support his support of ACA subsidies.

“My name is [name], and I’m calling from [city, zip]. I am calling to thank Attorney General Ferguson for his legal challenge to cutting subsidies for the ACA and the Muslim country travel ban.  I greatly appreciate his leadership in challenging these Republican and Trump agenda actions.”

Action 2: Tell your MOC that EPA regulations matter - again.

The Trump administration’s proposed weakening of EPA regulations has had a chilling impact on at least one important environmental energy project:

From the New York Times:
"In a gas field here in Wyoming’s struggling energy corridor, nearly 2,000 miles from Washington, the Trump administration’s regulatory reversal is crowning an early champion.

“Devon Energy, which runs the windswept site, had been prepared to install a sophisticated system to detect and reduce leaks of dangerous gases. It had also discussed paying a six-figure penalty to settle claims by the Obama administration that it was illegally emitting 80 tons each year of hazardous chemicals, like benzene, a known carcinogen.
"But something changed in February just five days after Scott Pruitt, the former Oklahoma attorney general with close ties to Devon, was sworn in as the head of the Environmental Protection Agency.  [Devon has said] it no longer intends to move ahead with the emission-control system.”

Call your MOCs and tell them not to allow Trump or Scott Pruitt to erode or erase EPA Regulations.  Our health and our environment are at stake!

“My name is [name], and I’m calling from [city, zip]. I am calling to express my concern about the Trump Administration’s threat to the environment by weakening EPA regulations.  The case of Devon Energy in Wyoming demonstrates how corporate interests will override important environmental protections under Scott Pruitt and Donald Trump. We need you to fight against this very real threat to the health of the American People and to our environment.”
