Action 1: Share your stories of opioid addiction treatment through Medicaid
Disclaimer: Stories about addiction can be deeply personal and painful, so please only do this action if you have a story you are comfortable sharing.
One of the arguments that has been most convincing to Republican representatives has been that Trumpcare would reduce treatment for opioid addiction by slashing Medicaid (opioid is an umbrella term describing most painkillers like oxycontin, Percocet, codeine, etc.). Our Senators' staffers have told us they are looking for stories from constituents about how Medicaid helped treat them or a loved one for opioid addiction or abuse, to help them underline the importance of this issue to their colleagues. If you have such a story and feel comfortable sharing it, do so now either by phone or email!

Senator Maria Cantwell:

There’s no script for this one as it’s all about your stories – but if you feel comfortable, make sure to give them permission to share the story themselves and/or provide your name and contact information in case they have questions.
Action 2: Mark Your Calendars for Jayapal's Town Hall, Thank her for Fighting Trumpcare
On Thursday July 6th, 5:30 pm at Town Hall Seattle, our Rep. Pramila Jayapal will be holding a Healthcare Town Hall to answer questions about the repeal bill and how to fight it. Let's mobilize to get out to to this Town Hall - mark it on your calendars, invite a friend, and think of questions you might ask! Even if you are not in Rep Jayapal's district, this will be a chance to come together during the recess around our opposition to Trumpcare.
Here is the link to RSVP:
We should also thank her for holding her SIXTH town hall this year, and for organizing to resist healthcare repeal:
