Action 1: Demand a Veto on Corporate Tax Cut
Governor Jay Inslee
"Hi, my name is [NAME], and I'm calling from [CITY]. Please veto the section of SSB 5977 that reduces the Business & Occupation (B&O) Tax (currently 0.484%) for manufacturers to Boeing's 0.2904%--a 40% reduction in this business tax rate."
Our allies at Washington's Paramount Duty have been advocating to Gov. Inslee to veto the section of SSB 5977 that reduces the Business & Occupation (B&O) Tax (currently 0.484%) for manufacturers to Boeing's 0.2904%--a 40% reduction in this business tax rate. Call and ask Governor Inslee (360-902-4111) on Thursday, July 6 to veto this section. It never got a hearing in the House Finance committee and Washingtonians deserve at least a modicum of transparency! If you can't call on Thursday, please email the Governor using this link: http://www.governor.wa.gov/contact/contact/send-gov-inslee-e-message
This letter was sent by WPD to Gov. Inslee's Chief of Staff and Director of External Affairs on Sunday:

Action 3: Help us reach 1,000 constituent amendments!
Trumpcare isn’t dead yet and at some point soon our Democratic Senators may need to pull out all the stops. One thing that they can do is filibuster by amendment, meaning they could delay a vote by proposing endless amendments to the bill. But this only works if they have endless amendments to propose!
THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN!
With this in mind, we at Seattle Indivisible want to generate a minimum of 1,000 amendments for our Senators by July 10. Help us get there!
Go to www.ouramendments.org, submit your amendment, and then send the pdf to email@example.com with the subject line “Amendment”. And feel free to do more than one!
