Action: Demand Access to Climate Change Report

In a special science section of the National Climate Assessment, scientists from 13 federal agencies have generated a comprehensive report on climate change and its expected impacts on the U.S. The National Academy of Sciences has already signed off on this report, but it will not be made public unless approved by the Trump Administration by August 18, and some of the authors fear it will be suppressed. The New York Times got their hands on the report and have shared some of the highlights here:

Call your representatives and ask them to demand that this report be released for the good of our future!

“My name is [NAME] and I am calling from [ZIP]. I am concerned that the special section of the National Climate Assessment that contains a scientific report on climate change will be suppressed by the Trump Administration. I would like [Rep./Sen.] to make a public statement demanding in the strongest of terms that this report be approved by the August 18 deadline and released to the public. I also believe that [Rep./Sen.] should prepare a response in case the report is suppressed, and plan to fight in whatever way is most effective to give the public access to this information.”
