Donate to Hurricane Irma relief

Hurricane Irma has obliterated the infrastructure of several island nations throughout the Caribbean. We have yet to fully calculate the damage it has done to Florida.

Below we’ve provided a list of organizations providing help both in the US and throughout the Caribbean:

Daily Action

Today, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on the Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act. This bill gives the Department of Homeland Security wide latitude to detain and deport immigrants which it claims are associated with crime or gang activity. Notably, an immigrant can be targeted for “gang affiliation” without being charged with an actual crime. We must stop this bill!

Don’t forget to fill out our call log so that we can track our impact:

Example script:

“Hello, my name is [name], and I’m calling from [city, zip]. I’m calling about the Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act, which I’m concerned will provide ICE with broad authority to detain and deport immigrants who haven’t been charged with an actual crime. I urge you to vote no on this dangerous bill.”

“The Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act criminalizes immigrants, including those fleeing gang violence, and allows more of them to be detained and deported. It also affects vulnerable populations such as asylum seekers, TPS holders, and unaccompanied children.”
