Fight Healthcare Repeal: It's a Numbers Game!

**PROTEST ALERT: Seattle Indivisible and other local resistance groups are teaming up for a Kill the Bill rally, this coming Monday, 4 - 7pm, across the street from University of Washington Medical Center (Montlake Blvd & Pacific Street NE):

Action: Reach out to friends and family in red states and ask them to call their Senators

McConnell is set on bringing the Cassidy-Graham bill to the floor as early as next week, without a full CBO score- but we know this bill would knock millions off of their insurance.

It's a numbers game again: we need as many calls to undecided Senators as possible. If you know people who live in any of the following states: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Maine, Ohio, Tennessee, ask them to call their Senators TODAY and EVERY DAY NEXT WEEK. Reach out directly, and post to your social media accounts. Use this handy resource for phone numbers and stats on each state:

SCRIPT: "Dear {NAME OF FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER], I’m writing to ask you to call Senator [NAME] about the latest Republican healthcare bill—Graham Cassidy. This bill is worse than the last version, and will eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions and slash Medicaid care for the needy. Senator [NAME] is a crucial swing vote and needs to hear from constituents as soon as possible. Please call them, tell them you live in their state, and ask them to vote no."

Extra Credit: Keep Connecting Friendly Red-State Voters to Swing Senators

Indivisible National has re-launched its Blue-to-Red call tool to bring this bill down. Today, sign up and use it to call friendly voters in red states with “swing” Senators, and connect them to their Senator's office! Instructions below:

1. Click here to sign up to make phone calls from the peer-to-peer dialing tool: Once signed in, you can start making calls immediately - and we’ll give you a script to make it as easy as possible!

2. Next, you’ll call a voter in a key state with a swing Republican Senator. These folks are your friends — they attended the Women’s March, they’re standing up to #DefendDACA, and/or fight for progressive causes.

3. You ask them to use their power. You’ll ask them to call their senator in opposition to the bill, and to share their own reasons for opposing it.

4. The tool connects them to their Senator’s office. The call tool will allow you to automatically patch them through to the Senators’ district offices.
