Action: Keep your eyes peeled for Trump’s infrastructure bait-and-switch

In the kind of legislative trickery that is becoming characteristic of this administration, President Trump is trying to exploit America’s desperate need for infrastructure spending to give away more money to big corporations. The White House has released blueprints for an infrastructure plan that includes the giveaway of public assets to private corporations as well as corporate tax cuts for infrastructure projects.
One way to preemptively take action against the coming infrastructure bill is to set out principles for a satisfactory infrastructure bill. Representatives Pramila Jayapal and Adam Smith have already supported one such resolution (the #MillionsOfJobs principles, or H.Con.Res.63). Thank them!
Rep. Pramila Jayapal: (202) 225-3106, (206) 674-0040
Rep. Adam Smith: (202) 225-8901, (425) 793-5180
“Hello, I’m [name] from [city, zip], and I wanted to thank Representative [name] for supporting the #MillionsOfJobs principles (H.Con.Res.63). America needs to improve its infrastructure without privatizing it on a massive scale.”
No Senate equivalent to H.Con.Res.63 currently exists, but it is likely that one will be introduced soon. Ask our senators to support such a resolution when it exists.
Sen. Patty Murray: (202) 224-2621, (206) 553-5545
Sen. Maria Cantwell: (202) 224-3441, (206) 220-6400
“Hello, I’m [name] from [city, zip]. I’m excited about the support that H.Con.Res.63 is receiving from House Democrats, and I would like for Senator [name] to support an analogous resolution when there is one in the Senate. America needs to improve its infrastructure without privatizing it on a massive scale.”
