No Fast-Tracking Judges

**Please note the location change of the Saturday Door-Knocking and Donuts event in Action 2.

Action 1: Tell your Senators to stop fast-tracking conservative judges

Fresh off the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh, Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer struck a second deal with Mitch McConnell yesterday to fast-track the appointment of 15 conservative judges. This means they will vote on all 15 Trump-nominees in succession, without debate, and then go home for recess.

These are lifetime appointments for anti-LGBT, anti-women, and anti-voting-rights judges, all in exchange for a few extra days of Senate campaigning! This was a bad deal the first time Schumer did it, and it’s a bad deal now. Tell your Senators - we demand full debate time on every judge, and don’t make it easy for them!

Sen. Patty Murray: 202-224-2621 / 206-553-5545

Sen. Maria Cantwell: 202-224-3441 / 206-220-6400

Script:

“Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m calling from [CITY]. I am disappointed in Senator Schumer’s decision to fast-track the appointment of 15 conservative judges to federal courts. These are lifetime appointments of judges who will rule against voting rights, women’s rights, and LGBT rights, and they deserve a full floor debate. Stop fast-tracking Trump-appointed judges, and put up a fight!”

Action 2: Commit to at Least One Canvass or Phone Bank in the Next Week

Wednesday’s poll showing Kim Schrier 10 points behind in the 8th Congressional District should be a wake-up call to get to work! Every week between now and the November 6 Election, the Seattle Indivisible Daily Action Team will be posting a targeted list of election events and actions.

This is the most important election of our lifetimes, and winning will take more than just your vote. Please commit to doing at least one action a week, and as many more as you can.
