No Fossil Fuel Exports from Military Bases

The AP has reported that the administration is looking into using military bases on the West Coast to export fossil fuels, claiming that it is in the interest of national security. This is a way to avoid the local opposition that has stopped new fossil fuel terminals from being built. On the heels of the IPCC report showing the urgency of addressing climate change, we demand that our representatives push back.

THREE WEEK COUNTDOWN TO MIDTERMS--WE ALL MUST BE FULLY ENGAGED

Our featured speaker at this week’s Resist Trump Tuesday rally will be Hamdi Mohamed, Rep. Jayapal’s constituent services and outreach coordinator. Hamdi will explain the importance of grassroots engagement if we are going to get the government we want and make our government work for the people. She will tell us what works and what doesn’t when trying to engage the public. With only 3 weeks until the midterms, Hamdi’s insights could not be timelier.

Following our rally from 11:45AM-12:30PM, we will put this civic engagement lesson to use when we meet with Sen. Murray’s and Sen. Cantwell’s staff from 12:30-1:30PM

WE NEED 25 INDIVISIBLES TO CANVASS IN WA-08 ON OCT 20

We agreed to bring enough volunteers to fully staff a Planned Parenthood Action GoTV canvass in Federal Way on Saturday Oct. 20--the first Saturday after ballots are received--so I really need your help. I can't think of a better way to harness that post-Kavanaugh energy than talking to PP supporters in the 8th District, explaining how essential it is that they turn that ballot in.

Please help (and bring your friends) by signing up on the below Google Form:

Monday, October 22, 7-9pm at Optimism Brewing. Speakers include Attorney General Bob Ferguson and State Poet Laureate Claudia Castro Luna. We’ll be joined by 10 human rights non-profits and DJ Megabooty of KBCS 91.3 FM spinning tunes. We will showcase the best videos from the #MyVoteMyVoice video challenge — some of which will be featured in Indivisible’s national video campaign leading up to the election! Be sure to bring your ballot with you, because at 9 pm, we will march down to the ballot box (with live music!) to deposit our ballots. Make your own #MyVoteMyVoice selfie video, write postcards to voters in WA-8, win Amplifier art, enjoy great food trucks and Cupcake Royale cupcakes as we celebrate the vote! Kids and dogs welcome.
