Ronny Jackson: A Poor Choice for the VA

ACTION:  Say “No” to Ronny Jackson to run Veteran’s Affairs

Last week Trump announced he’s replacing embattled VA Secretary David Shulkin with his White House physician, Ronny Jackson, as Secretary of Veteran’s Affairs.  Another poor Trump choice:  not only has Shulkin been involved in a travel expense scandal, but Jackson, Trump’s replacement, has no experience to cope with the detailed and complex administrative and management problems troubling the V.A. reports:  As Former CIA Director John Brennan stated, “I personally know and greatly respect Ronny Jackson… as a terrific doctor and Navy officer. However, he has neither the experience nor the credentials to run the very large and complex VA. This is a terribly misguided nomination that will hurt both a good man and our veterans.”

This is a terrible choice for our veterans and those who have served our country.  Please call our Senators and urge their opposition to Jackson’s appointment.

Please log your calls here:

  • Sen. Patty Murray: 202-224-2621 / 206-553-5545
  • Sen. Maria Cantwell: 202-224-3441 / 206-220-6400

Hello, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent calling from [CITY, ZIP].  Today I am calling to express my immediate and vehement opposition to Dr. Ronny Jackson’s nomination for V.A. Secretary.  Dr. Jackson has no experience to deal with the problems and challenges of the V.A.  I’m very concerned that members of our country’s armed services will be further harmed and under-served by the V.A. if Jackson is appointed.  Thank you.

We need YOU.  Don’t feel isolated and alone!  Whether you are a seasoned activist or a complete newbie, ALL are welcome to join us as we work together.  Join us in our weekly meeting, focusing on CONCRETE actions we can take NOW to make sure that Trump’s efforts are thwarted, and that midterm elections turn power away from racist and hate-mongering lawmakers and back toward those who support the rights and freedoms our country was founded on.

This week we will be

  1. Calling our senators to urge them to vote NO on confirming Pompeo and Haspel (Bolton does not require Senate confirmation).
  2. Writing postcards to get out the vote for Dr. Hiral Tipirneni for the April 24 special election in AZ-8.
  3. Getting updates on petition signature gathering for I-1631 for Clean Air and Clean Energy.

Join us on Tuesday evening!
