This Tuesday: Demand Firing of Department of Licensing Director

We will be exercising more than just our vocal chords at our Resist Trump Tuesday Rally on April 17th. As we do every week, we will rally at 11:45AM at the Federal Building. Then we will march to the Dept. of Licensing offices at 205 Spring Street in solidarity with our allies in the immigrant community who have organized a sign waiving protest outside DOL offices demanding the resignation/firing of DOL Director Pat Kohler.

Seattle Indivisible has joined in calling for the ousting of Dir. Kohler upon learning in January that the DOL had been regularly reporting immigrants applying for drivers licenses to ICE in violation of Gov. Inslee's Exec. Order 17-01. This serious breach of trust has lead to deportation efforts and terrified our immigrant neighbors who now fear utilizing simple services like applying for a driver's license.

Let's show up in force on April 17th to say "NO, not in Washington State--we mean it when we say immigrants are welcome here." Details of the sign waiving protest, and suggested sign messaging can be found on the Facebook Event page:

Also this Tuesday: Seattle Indivisible Weekly Meeting

No, you’re not imagining it.  This week really does feel like we’re coming up on the season finale of the world’s worst reality tv show.  Other than his own children, there’s no one closer to Trump professionally and personally than Michael Cohen.  Not so much his lawyer as his consigliere, Cohen’s office and home were raided by federal agents on Monday, and all his files taken as part of a criminal investigation.  One cannot overstate how bad this is for Trump, and he could fire Rosenstein and/or Mueller any day now.

Come join your neighbors as we process this together and clarify what we will do as a group if and when Trump pulls the trigger.  The very future of our democratic republic hangs on how we respond.  To be continued…..

WHERE:  Washington State Labor Council  (321 16TH AVE S, Seattle, WA 98144)
WHEN:  Tuesday, April 17  7-9pm

Bring a snack to share, bring a friend.

Volunteers Needed for Mueller Rapid Response:

We are still on HIGH ALERT that Rosenstein might be fired. We are planning a protest and march should that happen, but we're still looking for trained peacekeepers. If you are available over the next 48 hours, please fill out this form and we will contact you if we need to launch the protest.
