Why You Should Be a PCO

Have you ever thought to yourself, "I wish Democrats would do XXX," or "the Democrats really need to stop doing XXX if they are going to win this year!"

The best way to influence the direction of the Democratic party is to argue about it on Facebook - just kidding. The best way to change the party is to run to be your local Precinct Committee Officer (PCO)!

PCOs are hyper-local elected officials who represent your local precinct (a subdivision of the Legislative District) to the Democratic party. Their job is to motivate, mobilize, and educate their neighbors. PCOs have a say in choosing everything from representatives to the Democratic National Committee, to legislative district and county chairs. They also get to facilitate the 2020 presidential caucuses!

PCOs are a no experience required position! The time commitment can be as little as a few hours per month of door-knocking in your neighborhood. Plus, many precincts are vacant, so there is a good chance you could run unopposed and fill a crucial organizing gap in the Democratic 2018 mobilization.

This coming week – May 14th to 18th – is filing week for running as a PCO. Think you’re interested? Click on the below website to sign up for an email reminder. You will get a direct link to apply for the office when it goes live:
