Daily: Turnout calls for California Primaries
Sponsor: SwingLeft
Why: Like Washington, California has a top-two primary system where all candidates run on the same ballot. This type of system introduces a risk that two Republicans end up as the only candidates in the general election, eliminating the chances of flipping a swing district. SwingLeft has established a phone bank to increase Democratic turnout as much as possible to avoid this type of situation.

We want you to help us get Initiative 1631: Clean Air, Clean Energy on the ballot this November. This initiative will provide investments in a healthier future for everyone, and a clean energy economy that works for everyone. This initiative was developed with a focus on environmental justice, and is the product of a coalition of organized labor, environmental groups, small business, faith communities, and groups representing communities of color. This is a big deal - even Governor Inslee has endorsed!

Upcoming Events:

Resist Trump Tuesday continues on Tuesday, May 22 at 11:45 a.m. outside the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building, followed by a meeting with our Senators’ Staffers!

Weekly Seattle Indivisible Meeting Tuesday, May 22 at 7pm at the Washington State Labor Council, featuring Rep. Noel Frame

State Rep. Noel Frame (D-LD36) will speak and answer our questions at Seattle Indivisible’s 7-9PM meeting on Tuesday, May 22nd. We will have the rare opportunity to hear an inside analysis of the 2018 election with the State House and State Senate in play.

Democrats took full control of the legislature this year and were able to pass voter access laws, a revamp of police use of force laws, first in the nation net neutrality law and gun safety legislation including outlawing bump stocks. But did you know Dems only have a one vote majority? Hear from Rep. Frame on the political landscape for WA state in 2018, where progressives can make gains, and how you can help.

Join us this Tuesday (and every Tues), May 22, 7-9PM at the WA Labor Council, 321 16th Ave. S., Seattle.

We are Indivisible.

This meeting venue is wheelchair accessible, and can be reached by King County Metro buses 7, 14, 27, and 106, and the First Hill Streetcar.
