Official Action for Tuesday, May 29
We need you to help us turn out in numbers for today's Resist Trump Tuesday rally. We’d also love to see you at a special weekly meeting with Congressional Candidate Kim Schrier tonight. You can find more details at the end of this message.

Last Tuesday, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos delivered another blow to immigrant children already fearful of deportation, saying that school districts should have the freedom to report undocumented immigrant children to ICE. Washington Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal responded with a memo denouncing DeVos’s unconstitutional attack on children. The memo also instructed Washington schools to avoid any action that would discriminate against immigrant children or have a chilling effect on their enrollment. Thank Superintendent Reykdal, and let him know that Washington’s voters support his actions.
Office of the Superintendent: (360) 725-6015
“Hello, I’m [name] from [city, zip]. I’m calling today to thank Superintendent Chris Reykdal for speaking out against Secretary DeVos’s egregious attack on immigrant children and for setting a precedent for the protection of immigrant children within Washington’s school system.”
Resist Trump Tuesday, feat. Planned Parenthood Votes
11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: The Federal Building, 915 Second Ave, Seattle, WA 98104
Reinforcements needed! An alt-right group has expressed interest in counter-protesting our upcoming Resist Trump Tuesday against the abortion gag rule (which features a Planned Parenthood speaker). The page is run by the same man who failed to tear up an anti-fascism sign in half on May Day, and is associated with Patriot Prayer and the Proud Boys. Let’s show strength in numbers this Tuesday May 29, 11:45 a.m. outside the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building, and meet with our Senators’ staffers afterwards to express our outrage.
Weekly Meeting, feat. 8th Congressional District Candidate, Dr. Kim Schrier
7-9 p.m.: Washington State Labor Council, 321 16th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144
Guest speaker Dr. Kim Schrier, pediatrician and candidate for the 8th CD, will be speaking about some of the big problems our state is facing with health care, public education, the environment and what we can do to help solve them.
We’ll also be debriefing on the past week’s biggest events, including how to best fight back against:
* “Spygate/Liegate”: Trump's use of repeated lies to attack the FBI and our justice system.
* “Phonegate”: Trump’s refusal to stop using unsecured, hackable non-government phones to conduct official state business.
* “Koreagate”: Trump’s chaos approach to denuclearization summit talks with Kim Jong-Un.
This meeting venue is wheelchair accessible, and can be reached by King County Metro buses 7, 14, 27, and 106, and the First Hill Streetcar.
