This is not a drill. This is an emergency.

Family separation is cruel, unnecessary, and must end immediately.

From April 19 through May 31, there were 1,995 children separated from 1,940 adults by U.S. Border Patrol, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed on Saturday.

This is happening right now. Every day.

Our usual Resist Trump Tuesday Rally will be dedicated to this issue. Details below.

Physicians for Human Rights issued a statement. The full statement can be found in the link below.

Here is an excerpt:

Medical research clearly shows that the trauma of family separation during migration increases the risk of serious psychological disorders for refugee children, while support of the family unit is a protective mitigating factor. Separation from parents has a negative impact on the cognitive and emotional functioning of children, which can continue into adulthood and contribute to lower academic achievement, attachment difficulties, and poor mental health.

Irreparable harm is being done to children in our name. All that has to happen for this to end is Trump says “Stop”. In the meantime, this is happening. All our Representatives are on the right side of this issue. Here are some local and national organizations doing good work trying to help these children.
