It’s been a long week. The entire nation mobilized against child detention camps, and while Trump gave a partial retreat, his contradictory executive orders have led to bureaucratic chaos. There is no plan to reunite families and still a “zero tolerance” policy for asylum seekers. The battle is far from over.

Here is a quick action you can take from home. This week our Governor, Jay Inslee granted over $1.2 million dollars, including emergency funding, to the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) in order to “ensure equitable access to referral and representation services for indigent immigrants throughout Washington state, with a priority on helping those at highest risk of deportation and of extreme harm or hardship to themselves or their families.” This is especially crucial for the women at the SeaTac detention center, many of whom were separated from their children.

Send Inslee an email to thank him for continuing to find ways to help and to fight back against the Trump administration’s cruelty: https://www.governor.wa.gov/contact/contact/send-gov-inslee-e-message
