Censure Trump for Treason

We have our regular Resist Trump Tuesday rally and weekly meeting today. You can find more details at the end of this message. We hope to see you there!

Even after an American grand jury indicted twelve Russian agents, President Trump still “[does] not see any reason” to believe that Russia interfered with the 2016 Presidential Election. That’s what he said at a press conference yesterday after a two-hour private meeting with Vladimir Putin. Trump is putting the word of foreign despot above the findings of his own legal system. As former CIA Director John O. Brennan put it, this is “nothing short of treasonous.”

This is a blatant attack on the integrity of the American electoral system, the foundation of our democracy. Congress must act now to censure the President - an act which only requires a simple majority of Congress.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal--DC 202-225-3106; Seattle 206-674-0040

Rep. Adam Smith--DC 202-225-8901; Renton 425-793-5180

Sen. Patty Murray--DC 202-224-2621; Seattle 206-553-5545

Sen. Maria Cantwell--DC 202-224-3441; Seattle 206-220-6400

Sample Script:

“Hello, I’m [name], calling from [city, zip]. I am outraged that President Trump put the word of Putin above the findings of the American people in his press conference yesterday. The [House/Senate] must act now to censure President Trump and to denounce these attacks on our electoral system.”

TODAY: 11:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: The Federal Building, 915 Second Ave, Seattle, WA 98104

Join us for Resist Trump Tuesday this week as we take a deep dive into Mueller’s indictment of 12 Russian officers. What does it mean, and why does President Trump continue to label Europe and Canada as foes while embracing Vladimir Putin? Meanwhile, we are keeping our eye on all the balls and will give an update on #SaveSCOTUS efforts and the Trump administration’s unacceptably feeble efforts to reunite the thousands of immigrant children that they shamefully tore away from their parents at the southern border.

Following our Resist Trump Tuesday rally, as we do every week, we will have an open forum meeting with Sen. Murray’s and Sen. Cantwell’s staff from 12:30-1:30pm. Please join us—we need your voice!
