Include Disabled People on Government Websites – and Vote!

It’s time to vote! Ballots have been mailed out for the upcoming Washington state primary election. Please remember to fill them out and return them by August 7. If you can’t fill the ballot out right now, put it in a safe spot and place some reminders on your calendar.

Action: Increase awareness of disabled people on government websites

A survey of government websites by WebsitePlanet found that “While around 50% do show physically disabled people in images, only less than 4% have them on non-health and wellness related pages.” We can do better than that, and treat disabled people as whole human beings.

-Seattle Indivisible is proud to welcome author and activist Amy Siskind to Seattle this September 27. Proceeds from this event will be split 50/50 between the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Seattle Indivisible's ongoing voter registration and turnout promotion efforts.
