Finally, EPA Chief Scott Pruitt resigned last week, after multiple revelations of egregious misuse of his position to receive inappropriate perks, as well as flagrant abuse of his staff to perform personal errands and tasks. This is a win for the EPA, who have been losing professional scientists and experts in droves due to poor morale over Pruitt's irresponsible management of the agency.
We need a healthy environment on the Earth in order to be able to live. NASA astronauts report that from space our planet is a blue marble-like orb, with a relatively thin layer of atmosphere that protects it from the vacuum of space and the destructive UV rays of direct sun. Without the protection of our environment humans cannot survive.
It's a big win that Scott Pruitt is out. However, his interim replacement, Andrew Wheeler, is a former coal lobbist who has reduced environmental regulations for coal, benefiting industry at the expense of the clean water and clean air.
ACTION: Demand that EPA administrators not sell out to corporate interests
Call our MOCS today and urge them to continue to speak out against dangerous practices by the EPA that were started under President Trump, Scott Pruitt, and his appointed administrators.

“Hello, this is [NAME] calling from [CITY, ZIP]. I am extremely upset at the EPA's actions to loosen environmental regulations for coal that will harm the environment and the health of American people. This is disgraceful. I am relieved that Scott Pruitt has resigned, and I want to thank the [MOC] for watchdogging environmental interests while Pruitt was in control. Please ensure that Andrew Wheeler does not take us further down the path toward polluted air and water. Thank you.”

If you'd like to see for yourself the fragility of the Earth as viewed from space, the International Space Station (ISS) live-feeds views of Earth from its hi-def cameras. The ISS is a true international effort, with astronauts from Russia and the U.S., from Europe and Asian countries, and its components come from multiple countries.
