The New York Times reports that racial disparities in criminal sentencing have caused massive voter disenfranchisement. As a result, 21.3% of African-Americans in Florida cannot currently vote.
Florida is a perennial battleground in presidential elections (remember the 2000 recount that elected George W. Bush?). RIGHT NOW, Democrat Andrew Gillum is running a great campaign to be elected Florida’s next Governor.
Gillum is taking the high road.
His opponent, a strong Trump supporter, is using racially-charged attack language.
Please help restore the rights of Florida voters, turn out voters to elect Andrew Gillum, and help Democrats win Florida in the 2020 presidential election!
ACTION 2: Stop the Kavanaugh Nomination
Until there is resolution on Brett Kavanaugh, we are doing a marathon of calls and actions to stop his appointment to the Supreme Court. This is an emergency, not just because it will tip the Supreme Court conservative for a generation, but also because a man who faces legal troubles (Trump) is about to be allowed to appoint his own judge.
Democrats must speak out loudly about the credible allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh, and the lies he may have told to the Judiciary committee.
Sen. Patty Murray: (202) 224-2621, (206) 553-5545
Sen. Maria Cantwell: (202) 224-3441, (206) 220-6400
“Hi, my name is [NAME], from [CITY]. I’d like to ask the Senator to continue speaking out against the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Please call attention to allegations that Kavanaugh assaulted Dr. Christine Ford, and lied under oath about stolen Democratic emails.”
Resist Trump Tuesday
We rally every Tuesday from 11:45AM-12:30PM, followed by our standing meeting with Senator Murray and Senator Cantwell's staff from 12:30-1:30PM. Please join us -- we need your voice!
