Preserve Our Endangered Species

Official Action for Saturday, September 22

Since Senators and their staffers are not in their office today, let’s take a quick break from Kavanaugh to focus on midterms and on protecting the Endangered Species Act.

On Thursday, Trump officials announced their intention to defang the massively successful Endangered Species Act of 1973. Under the new provisions, the government would no longer need to consult scientists before issuing drilling or logging permits, and economic considerations can overrule the needs of endangered species.

Monday is the deadline to comment on this terrifying plan, so take a minute now to let the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service know that the Endangered Species Act must stand. The Woodland Park Zoo has a form on its website that makes it easy to submit a comment:

We march together. We rally together. We hurt together. And we heal together.

Next, we VOTE.

If we expect to be successful, then we must first acknowledge our failure. In the 2016 election, we failed. One way we failed is allowing Islamophobia to be weaponized against us, without even knowing that it was effectively being used to help win elections. With the Islamophobia machinery on full throttle and now even having reached the highest levels of our government, we continue to fail. With the upcoming election, it is more important than ever for us to understand and overcome Islamophobia, because it has a very real impact on us all. And we must do better if we hope to win.

Don't miss this special FREE opportunity to learn about the Islamophobia industry and how it intersects with other issues and affects us all. And gain the tools necessary for us to effectively combat Islamophobia together!
