Protect the Redistricting Process

As a conservative Supreme Court considers permitting a citizenship question on the 2020 census, and appears likely to hear another gerrymandering appeal from Michigan, we know that the redistricting process will be more important than ever. It will determine whether power and representation is fair and democratic for the next decade.

After the census is taken next year, state governments will be allowed to redraw their own state and federal district maps in 2022.

To ensure a fair redistricting, we need to flip state legislative chambers away from vote-suppressing Republicans. A little money goes a long way in these local races, and the progressive campaign organization SwingLeft has begun raising funds to enable them and their partner organizations to work to flip legislative chambers in 9 different states!
