Both Rep. Jayapal and Rep. Smith have signed on to a letter to the House Appropriations Committee. The letter demands that language be included in the next budget that would prevent DHS from moving money to ICE without congressional approval. It also would lower the number of beds ICE is using for detention now be dropped back to the 2016 level. See the link below for the full text of the letter.
