Are impeachable offenses happening out in the open?

Did you see the news that Donald Trump wants to host next year's G7 meeting of world leaders at the Trump Doral resort in Florida? Hosting this meeting at Donald Trump's private golf club would personally enrich the President, and also open the door to all sorts of potential bribery issues. This feels deeply unethical at best. Larry Noble, a former Federal Election Commission general counsel said to Talking Points Memo:

"The idea of leveraging your office to make money goes against the very concept of public service." Such acts, he said, are "normally a criminal violation."

Since this news broke earlier this week, the White House has started walking back the idea of hosting the G7 meeting at Trump Doral — undoubtedly because of the brazen 'swampiness' of the President's actions, and the House Judiciary Committee has opened investigations into whether this might constitute an impeachable offense.

Sample script for Smith:

Event: Displacement Press Conference

Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11 AM – 12 PM

SeaTac Bakaro Mall, 15245 International Blvd

The SeaTac City Council has decided to displace the immigrant-owned businesses at SeaTac Center stating August 31st as their last day to vacate the property. This is an arbitrary date since construction will not begin on the site until after January 2020; therefore, the City has no use for the building. Join us to protest SeaTac City Council’s unfair and discriminatory treatment of these immigrant businesses and to tell SeaTac City Council that we will not be silenced!
