Thank Attorney General Bob Ferguson for his role in winning another judgement against the Trump Administration. A Federal Judge this week issued a permanent block on the new Trump Administration rules that attempted to remove significant protections for immigrant families apprehended at the border as stipulated by the Flores Agreement.
The Trump Administration attempted to override the Flores Agreement (Flores v. Reno), which outlines the humane treatment of immigrant children in federal custody. Attorney General Ferguson argued against the attempt to remove standards of care and oversight of the detention facilities from the states in which they operate and give that oversight to the very department that conducts the detention. He joined with 19 other state attorneys general in filing and winning the lawsuit.
Please call the Attorney General's Office to say thank you for your efforts and please keep fighting for Washington citizens' rights and interests!
